Give a gift to support the autism community this festive season

For more than 50 years, Amaze has been here for autistic people, their families and carers. Our work would not be possible without your generosity, and for that, we thank you.

Navigating the pandemic over the past two years has been extremely challenging for our community, with the many changes to daily life being particularly difficult. But it has been heartening and humbling to hear from our community, government agencies and professionals about the difference our work has made.

With Amaze, autistic people and their families have somewhere to turn to for help, ensuring the right support is in place during the most challenging of times.

It is likely that COVID-19 will continue to challenge the autistic community well beyond the period in which life returns to “normal” for the general population. Amaze will continue to work in response on behalf of our community for as long as is necessary.

Where your donation goes

Our achievements and all the progress made this year would not have been possible without the generosity of our donor and supporter network. Some of our recent work includes:

  • Amaze’s advocacy has played a leading role in bringing autism issues to the attention of decision makers. Our advocacy and policy work resulted in changes to proposed NDIS reforms, improved vaccine accessibility for autistic people and conveyed the circumstances of autistic people before parliamentary inquiries.
  • We provided support to our community during the COVID-19 pandemic by developing new resources, keeping our community informed of breaking news and updates, and advised on how health professionals can support autistic people getting vaccinated. Our advocacy saw the Victorian Government implement on-site learning for students with disability who were vulnerable.
  • Championed autism acceptance and understanding in the community, schools and workplaces.
  • Developed free workshops upskilling and supporting autistic people and their families. Our popular expert workshops include important topics such as navigating the NDIS, how parents can support their autistic children, autism and women and girls, and employment.

Our donors and supporters enable us to continue influencing change in areas such as assessment and diagnosis, mental health, employment, education, the NDIS and creating accessible environments.

But with your help, there is so much more we can do.

We know this year has been tough on everyone, so if you are in a position to give, we appreciate any help you are able to offer.

Your donation today will help us do our best to keep our community safe and protected when sudden needs arise such as during the recent pandemic.
